Welcome to The Daily Grind Business Podcast Weekly Summaries. Each week the interviewees impart their wisdom by sharing their experiences. Learn from them. To connect with them and to receive some free information please click on the links below.

There is a common thread with all successful entrepreneurs and that is the importance of investing in both your business and personal growth. So each week we also share with you titles of books that either these entrepreneurs have written or suggested that you read.

The people who Colin interviews didn’t just make a million dollars. They persevered. A lot of them failed; but they got back up, dusted themselves off and got back in the race. They had an undying belief that what they were doing was the right thing and would eventually take off – it just needed time and more hard work. In the process, they reached out to mentors, read books, listened to podcasts and audiobooks and attended seminars. They got rid of their egos and they learned from people who were doing exactly what they wanted to do.

We are passionate about helping entrepreneurs get started in their businesses so this is why we have compiled weekly notes from our weekly podcasts. The entrepreneurs who so graciously offered their time to be interviewed are passionate about giving back and helping others as we do.

Week 7

Isabel Hundt is a Speaker, Certified Life Transformation Coach, Author of The Power of Faith-Driven Success, Empath-Warrior™ and Emotions Clearing Practitioner.

Isabel also teaches how to use our emotions and intuition as a powerful guide in business   and life.

3.  Nathan Hirsch Connects Business Owners with the Top 1% of Freelancers

Nathan Hirsch bootstrapped two companies to become multi-million dollar businesses and continues to run them today. He started the first, Portlight, in his college dorm room selling textbooks on Amazon.com in 2009. He and his biz partners expanded to other product categories and have sold over $20 mil on the marketplace. At its peak, they were managing over 500,000 products on their Amazon store from over 1,000 drop ship suppliers.

After much frustration hiring through Upwork and other platforms, they started their own online hiring marketplace, specialized for eCommerce biz owners, in the fall 2015. FreeeUp.com now services over 2,000 online businesses and is on pace to hit $5+ million this year. Nathan serves as the CEO handling client acquisition, software management, and internal team growth.

4.  Maddy Niebauer, The Chief of Staff Guru

Maddy Niebauer, CEO and Founder of vChief, helps overwhelmed leaders get on
top of their to-do list and spend their time where they can have the most impact.
The virtual chief of staff service supports leaders from all sectors and domains,
who are looking for high-level strategic support on a part-time basis.

Maddy spent 5 years as a Chief of Staff at Teach For America, working virtually
with a member of the organization’s leadership team. She discovered she
loved the fast-paced, ever-changing nature of the work, and the ability to truly
leverage a leader’s time so they could be more productive and successful. She
knew many leaders could benefit from this service on a part-time basis, which
inspired her to launch vChief.

vChief’s networks of chiefs of staff are seasoned leaders with a depth of
experience in strategy and operations, which can help visionary leaders, maximize
their time. Maddy has more than 20 years of professional experience, including
8 as a chief of staff, and has her MBA from Columbia Business School and
Bachelor’s Degree from Stanford University.

On a personal note, Maddy travelled with her family for 8 months internationally
in Central and South America while running her own company from the road.
She discovered great tips for working remotely internationally, travel with family
and “world-schooling” kids.

These entrepreneurs have a common thread – a passion for what they are doing. They have challenges but they have found the tools to help them through their fears and self-doubt.

We would like to share with you the golden nuggets that we gleaned from these interviews.

“We developed a micro-learning platform to help young professionals – millennials – succeed in the workplace by helping them build their professional skills. It consists of 21 modules with 10-15 minutes of content centered around specific training topics such as how to overcome entitlement, how to develop a strong work ethic, proven ways to overcome device distraction, and more.” by Steven Van Cohen
“We lost our biggest client when we couldn’t afford it. We did not see that coming. We lost $1 ½ million in revenue in one day. So we developed a strategy to offer different things to our other clients.  It was a nightmare.” by Steven Van Cohen
“Be as diversified as you can.” by Steven Van Cohen

“About 1 out of 5 people are called empath. Being an empath is what you are born with. We feel people’s emotions. We see the world differently. When you carry the burden of the world it shows up physically on your body.” by Isabel Hundt
“I had a lot of self-doubt. I kept hearing some other calling. The more I learned to listen from within the answers came to me.” by Isabel Hundt
“The world around you is a reflection of your inner world. Trust yourself and in your abilities. Trust your intuition.” by Isabel Hundt

“If you have an online business that is growing we have a roster of remote online freelancers for projects such as customer service, marketing and web development. We give you access to the top 1% of online freelancers that we have interviewed and screened. Not only that we bill you only for the monthly hours on the project.” by Nathan Hirsch
“It is not a good thing to do everything because there are people out there who can do some things better than I can. When I took certain things off my plate like bookkeeping, social media, and customer service it enabled me to grow my business.” by Nathan Hirsch
“I surround myself with really good people who bring good and new ideas to the table.” by Nathan Hirsch

“Time is your most valuable resource especially when you are starting your new business. We will work with you to manage your projects, plan events and conferences, create systems and processes and help you manage your inbox and calendar.” by Maddy Niebauer
“My virtual company allows me to work anywhere. I have been on the road for the past 8 months in Central and South America.” by Maddy Niebauer
“Learn from your failures, but don’t berate yourself. Leverage what you are good at. You don’t have to be perfect at everything.” by Maddy Niebauer

“Having a vision story is the number one priority for any small business owner. Adding implementation to that vision is rocket fuel” by Scott Beebe
“I hired a coach, Aaron Walker to begin my journey.” by Scott Beebe
“My biggest foe is fear. It’s as real as the table in front of me. Fear comes to me in facial contortion, emotion and silent voices that nobody can hear. This is not a cleared hurdle yet. To hear his struggles Go to punchfearinthemouth.com
